20th Triennial Conference ICOM-CC València Working Towards A Sustainable Past 18-22 September 2023
Several members of the Gilt Leather Society participated in the conforence in 2023 with the following contributions:

12th Interim Meeting of the ICOM-CC Leather and Related Materials Working Group
The Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands and ICOM-CC are pleased to invite you to the online 12th Interim Meeting of the ICOM-CC Leather and Related Materials Working Group on 12 & 13 October 2022.
Conservators, scientists, museum professionals, students and other people who are interested or specializing in the conservation of leather and related materials are invited to join this free-of-charge event.
During two afternoons on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th October, there will be a series of online lectures and short video-presentations by speakers from all over the world. Knowledge and experiences will be shared on current projects, new or innovative research initiatives, as well as various conservation experiences with leather and related materials.
Aside from an emphasis on gilt leather, there will be lectures on dating and measuring techniques, adhesives, infill materials and other aspects of leather conservation, plus some art historical subjects.
Enkhuizer collaboration with Rijksmuseum on gilt leather
In the Regent’s Room of the former Groot Weeshuis at Westerstraat 111 in Enkhuizen (now museum Sow to Grow), part of the historic gilt leather has been restored and reinstalled. The Enkhuizen municipality led the restoration project and participated in a pilot for applying a special hanging system for the restored wallpaper. Read the full article here: Rodi Enkhuizen
Exhibition Le pareti delle meraviglie in Mantua, June 2022
In June 2022, Eloy Koldeweij (University of Utrecht), Christopher Calnan (National Trust), Andreas Schulze (Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden) and Mariabianca Paris (Central Institute of Restoration of Rome) visited the exhibition Le pareti delle meraviglie. Corami di corte tra i Gonzaga e l’Europa in Palazzo del Te in Mantua with curator Augusto Morari. The exhibition took place from 26 March to 26 June 2022.
